Welcome to the Eritrean AI App (featuring our AI persona, ጓል ኤረይ – Gual Erey). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and related services. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
To provide our culturally tailored AI services, we collect the following types of information:
- Personal Information: First Name, Surname, Gender, and Email Address. We collect gender specifically to ensure the AI addresses you correctly with culturally appropriate Tigrinya terms (e.g., ሓወይ / ሓፍተይ).
- Audio Data: When you use voice features, the app records audio (m4a format) to process Speech-to-Text translation and commands.
- Camera & Photo Library Data: If you choose to use our Document Advisor, Mechanic, or Translator tools, you may upload photos of documents, car parts, or text.
- Location Data: We do not track continuous background location. However, location data is implicitly collected and processed when you input queries like “Jobs near me” or specify a city in the Job Navigator.
- Authentication Data: Login credentials and authentication tokens.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the AI features (Chat, Legal Advisor, Mechanic, Job Navigator, Translator).
- Personalize your experience using your name and gender.
- Process audio and image files via secure third-party to generate responses.
- Manage your account and subscription status.
4. Data Storage and Security
How your data is stored depends on your account type:
- Free/Guest Users: Chat history and profile names are stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, this data is lost.
- PRO Users (Logged-in): Chat history and profile data are securely synced to cloud databases using Google Firebase Firestore to provide a seamless cross-device experience.
- Authentication is managed securely via Firebase Authentication.
5. Third-Party AI Data Sharing
We utilize trusted third-party service providers to power our app. To provide our AI voice assistant features, we explicitly collect your voice recordings, text inputs, and uploaded images, and share this personal data with our third-party AI service provider:
- Google : Used for AI text generation, image analysis, and voice responses. Data sent to this third-party AI service is used solely to generate responses to your prompts. We confirm that Google provides the same or equal protection of your personal data as outlined in this Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase: Used for secure database hosting, user authentication, and cloud storage.
6. Your Data Rights
